Warren McKenzie thrives in the team environment at Duns, having made the decision to merge his own successful practice with the firm in 2007. Compatibility, core values and culture were key considerations in the merger at a time when his firm had experienced strong growth and more resources were needed. Always committed to acting in his clients' best interests, he says that successful businesses have clear goals, plan to achieve them, and regularly measure performance against those goals. His approach is to identify the key areas that make a business tick, its core values and behaviours, and to continually work on productivity which flows through to improved efficiency, systems improvements and technology updates. After more than 30 years in public practice, Warren's clients comprise primarily family-owned and managed businesses and commercial enterprises. His expertise encompasses a range of business advisory skills, including all aspects of property-related services (construction, development and investing), business acquisitions and sales, and financial structures. An advocate of the work/life balance, clients are likely to find him pursuing his fitness and health goals after hours, including running, tennis, cycling, golf and other seasonal pursuits.
