Mark Revis
BCom, CA, (PP) | Director
"Being a successful accountant is about being creative, and offering smart, practical, common-sense solutions to a client’s individual circumstances. To achieve this, the relationship I forge with clients is a very personal one. I take a real interest in them, their business and the people who work with them. I take great satisfaction in working with my clients to achieve the best possible outcome, whether it's assisting them in meeting objectives, the achievement of financial goals, or enjoying life a whole lot more."
As the most trusted professional, accountants have the enviable role of knowing probably the most about the intricacies of their clients than anyone else. "You would be surprised at how much clients confide in us. At times I think we should probably have couches in our offices than meeting tables!"
Mark’s client base predominantly encompasses property investment and development, hospitality, and motor vehicle sectors, and extends from small to medium family-owned and operated businesses.
Mark’s active involvement in property allows him to interpret a situation quickly. This extends from advising on tax efficient structures, assisting with financial applications and project feasibilities, as well as understanding the risks and pitfalls that can occur in property transactions. For example, managing GST issues so that time-of-supply considerations are not breached, can have a significant impact on cash flow, he says.
Mark originally joined Duns in 1989 and left in 2000 to pursue other business interests, returning to Duns in 2007 through the merger of his accountancy practice into the fold. An active and competitive sportsman, Mark has represented Canterbury in badminton for many years. It is this work ethic he brings to Duns and his clients. |
